The emergent growth of this species is a nice rusty red to burgundy colour.  this is a fairly small species and not an overly agressive grower.  Originates near Chazuta, peru.  this plant grows naturally in the habitat of Ranitomeya imitator, R. summersi, R. variabilis as well as Ameerega bassleri, A. trivitatta and A. caynarachi.
