These small rigid leaves are an excellent addition to a terrarium.  They are slow to break down and the rich dark colour looks quite attractive when contrasted again other varieties of leaf litter.  We also add this leaf to all of our tadpole water.  The tannins released seem to be beneficial to the water quality and many species of tadpoles will graze upon the leaf as it decomposes. 

Collected seasonally and sustainably from the Amazon Rainforest in Peru.  Dried, cleaned and sorted for quality.
